Sr Evangelist Barrett PBVM
Celebrates 80 years of Religious Life.

Sr Evangelist celebrates the Anniversary of her First Profession here in Geraldton 80 years ago! Mary Brigid Barrett, fresh out of County Cork, Ireland, was one of 13 novices who were Professed on that day very special day in Geraldton. Eleven made their First Profession and two their Final Profession. She is the sole surviving member of the group.

Sister Evangelist taught in many of the schools around the Diocese
and is fondly remembered by many, many, past students. 

Sr Evangelist is happily retired and a resident at Nazareth House Aged Care, with the Nazareth Sisters in the suburb of Bluff Point. She now has only a few short months to await another very big celebration, with her 100th birthday, God willing, to take place in February 2021!
