During Communio Week in Schools the Bishop invites students to reflect on the Caring Services that operate within the Diocese and how these agencies reach out to those in need. Throughout the week the Teachers of Religious Education lead the children in a variety of activities that help them to focus on those in need in their own local community. A Mass is celebrated within each school and prayer liturgies take place around the selected Theme for the year, praying not only for the needy but also for those who care for them.

The children participate in a live webcast with Bishop Justin on the Tuesday during that week. The students, from both Primary and Secondary, watch and listen to the Bishop via the internet as they submit a great variety of questions to him via email.

Also a highlight of the week would be when the students, staff and families have fun creating ways to fundraise throughout the week. They then forward the money to the Bishop to distribute to the Caring agencies that require help.

Vision Statement

We are:

* a welcoming community which reaches out to all
* celebrating Christ's presence
* joyfully living out our Christian calling across distance and diversity

This vision states that as a Diocese, we aim to be a welcoming, missionary, centred on Christ, and each striving to live one's particular vocation. It is in living out our calling that we praise God, follow Christ, influence society and achieve the goal of eternal life won for us by Christ. In the parishes we have encouraged people to measure whatever they do against this Diocesan vision.
