Hello People of the Geraldton Diocese,

Ash Wednesday has marked the beginning of Lent and the start of our reflective journey.

On this day we launch our annual campaign, Project Compassion, to help end poverty and promote justice in the world’s most vulnerable communities.

Lent is a time to reflect on our faith and values such as love, generosity, justice and peace. In support of the Year of Youth, our focus for 2018 is to empower young people to lead their communities to a Just Future.

You are invited to stand in solidarity with young people and communities living in poverty by giving during Lent to create real change.

Caritas Australia thank for your support.  If you wish to make a donation, during lent, the Project Compassion boxes and envelopes can be obtained from your Parish / church or you can donate on line at http://www.caritas.org.au/ or phone 1800 024 413.

Kindest regards

Vision Statement

We are:

* a welcoming community which reaches out to all
* celebrating Christ's presence
* joyfully living out our Christian calling across distance and diversity

This vision states that as a Diocese, we aim to be a welcoming, missionary, centred on Christ, and each striving to live one's particular vocation. It is in living out our calling that we praise God, follow Christ, influence society and achieve the goal of eternal life won for us by Christ. In the parishes we have encouraged people to measure whatever they do against this Diocesan vision.
