“LIQUID GOLD” – Homily for the Chrism Mass
Liquid gold. Homer’s ancient name for olive oil[1] has made a comeback, following a surge in prices across the Mediterranean.[2] Drought and a bacterial infection have seen global production fall this past year and the price of a litre of olive oil rise from €5 to as much as €20. ‘Humanity Warts and All in Mark’s Passion’Homily for the Mass of Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord, Year B

Homily for Mass of the 5th Sunday of Lent, Year B + Opening of Catholic Institute of Sydney Academic Year

OUR
VISION
My hope is for a Church in which the Gospel is preached with joy, the wisdom of our tradition mined with fidelity, the sacraments celebrated with dignity and welcome, and the seminaries, convents and youth groups teeming with new life; a Church in which our parishes, chaplaincies and educational institutions are true centres of the new evangelisation, our laity theologically literate and spiritually well-formed, our outreach to the needy effective and growing, and God glorified above all. That will depend hugely on three factors: our clergy and religious; our families; and our young people.
